SYNOPSIS
Angrez-born-confused-desi Archie, alias Archana Bassi, is a Punjabi stock born and brought up in the heart of a confused cultural cauldron called Southall in London. While trying to blend into the mainstream English society, Archie longs for the traditions of a joint Indian family but is sickened by the attitude of the Indian boys in London. An Indian tourist Rahul Chaddha --- smart, suave, sophisticated, sensitive and intelligent --- walks into her life and heart. They profess their love but keep it under wraps. When Rahul returns to India, Archie follows him to Mumbai. Soon she realises that Rahul merely wanted to have 'fun' with her --- a 'London Girlfriend' about whom he has bragged to his chums. While secretly staying with him, she realises that Rahul shares his den with three other friends. She also realises that his parents are having their own flings. She soon realises that the India she envisioned has turned out an altogether different ballgame. She discovers that the urban Indian middle class is as bad as the debauched English society and morally hollow. But Archie tries to complete her mission of finding a groom --- by hook or by crook. What follows is a riot of farcical situations and rip roaring moments where everyone tries to outwit the other, creating utter chaos. Who does she finally bag? Does she fall for looks, money, power or sheer convenience?
