Sarhad Paar - A New Dawn

SYNOPSIS

This is a touching story of the heroism of a traumatised soldier, who avenges all the cruelties and the hardships thrust on his family. In the holy land of Punjab on the arid border of a terrorism-ridden state, army man Ranjit Singh (Sanjay Dutt) comes home after a long absence. Declared missing in action after he accidentally crossed the border, Ranjit had gone through grave trauma and torment at the hands of terrorists. His wife Pammi (Tabu) and sister Simran (Mahima Choudhary) are happy to get him back, yet shocked to see his depressing condition. Ranjit discovers that the root cause of his pathetic condition was his tormenter, Bhaktavar (Rahul Dev), a mercenary, who recruits traitors from both sides of the border. Simran is caught in the emotional dilemma between supporting her brother in his fight against his oppressor and fulfilling her marital commitment to her beloved. The faith and commitment of the two women doesnt falter even as the righteous mans struggle is blended with sensitive moments, emotional scenes, high drama and raw earthy action. Will Ranjit get inspired by the teaching of a Guru that When all other means have failed, it is then righteous to take the sword in the hand? Will a sister back her right brother or evil beloved? Will a wife, who lost hope, reclaim her love?
